The ‘Apollo-Eglin’ case is significant for Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) research. Although the case details are vague and not able to provide us with a full picture of the nature, intent, origin, or destination of these reported four UAP, the case is profound given the clear obfuscation that Congressional committee members received when trying to access the information. What this case shows more than anything else, is that there is an active effort to conceal UAP case data and testimony within the USAF.

Case Report: The Apollo-Eglin UAP (2023)

Case ID: #GLP019

Dates: 26th of January, 2023

Location: Gulf of Mexico – 16’000 feet above ground level.

Incidents:

On the 23rd of January 2023 (time unknown) over the Gulf of Mexico (exact coordinates unknown), a United States Airforce (USAF) pilot (identify unknown, WSO unknown) flew from Eglin Airforce base in Florida and engaged a diamond formation of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) that showed up on radar. The pilot engaged and managed to gain radar lock on ‘UAP-1’ and obtain a photographic capture of the object, while the remaining ‘UAP-2’ ‘UAP-3’ and ‘UAP-4’ were only detected by radar at higher altitudes. The descriptions of the ‘UAP-1’, and details presented in the FOIA (see below) described the UAP similar to the ‘Apollo spacecraft’ in both size and shape. The UAP was an ‘orange-reddish’ colour and was illuminated on the bottom and had a ‘three-dimensional cone shape’ top-half that was comprised of ‘gunmetal grey segmented panels’. Journalist Tucker Carson, speaking on the ‘FullSend Podcast in 2023, revealed that he spoke with a Congressman about this case – Tucker claimed that the fighter pilot took images of the UAP “right next to his plane” and were able to get thermal imaging of the UAP which showed heat at the bottom of the object rather than the top. According to the disclosed FOIA (see below), when the USAF pilot came within 4’000 feet of ‘UAP-1’ the radar instruments malfunctioned and would then remain disabled for the entirety of the mission, with no fault being found in the post-mission investigation. UAP-1 was recorded at 16’000 feet above ground level, UAP-2 was at 17’000 feet and UAP-3 was at 18’000 feet, UAP-4 was lost to radar and no altitude was recorded. No airspeeds were recorded in the report for any of the UAP. No further details have been made available.

Congressional intervention:

On the 21st of February (2023), Congressional representatives Matt Gaetz, Tim Burchett and Anna Luna attended Eglin Airforce base in an attempt to speak with the military USAF personnel involved with the ‘Apollo-Eglin’ UAP case, but were denied access to the required case information. Due to Luna and Burchett not being part of intelligence oversight committees, they were not permitted access. Congressman Gaetz was eventually allowed access and was privy to some of the case data.

As reported by the Liberation Times –

Florida representative Matt Gaetz, who had been alerted and briefed on the incident, addressed it during the Congressional UAP Hearing in July 2023:

“One of the pilots goes to check out that diamond formation [viewed on radar] and sees a large floating, what I can only describe as an orb, again, like I said, not have any human capability that I’m aware of…

And when he approached, he said that his radar went down. He said that his FLIR (infrared camera) system malfunctioned and that he had to manually take this image from one of the lenses.”

In the famous July 2023 hearing on UAP, Congressman Gaetz reminded the room that he has served on the arms service committee for seven years and the committee that oversees technologies with DARPA. He again confirmed the UAP case.

The image was of something that I am not able to attach to any human capability, either from the United States or our adversaries.

Speaking on ‘Rob Schmitt Tonight’ Gaetz made further statements in 2023:

I have seen evidence of craft that I am not familiar with any of our allies or adversaries or even our country possessing.

Taking to social media (Twitter) Gaetz again confirmed the incident:

Several months ago, my office received a protected disclosure from Eglin Air Force Base indicating there was a UAP incident that required my attention.

I sought a briefing regarding that episode and brought @RepTimBurchett and @RepLuna with me.

We were initially denied access to images, radar, and conversation with all members of the flight crew. After demanding access, the information was exclusively shown to me, and I was able to speak with one member of the flight crew who took the photo.

The image was of a UAP that I am not able to attach to any human capability, either from the United States or from any of our adversaries.

The pilot said he encountered a fleet of UAPs in diamond formation over the Gulf of Mexico, which was confirmed on radar that I reviewed.

He said approaching the UAPs caused video and other aircraft security features to malfunction. He saw what I can only describe as an orb – not of any human capability that I’m aware of.

Congressman Matt Gaetz (Twitter – 26.07.2023).

Commenting to Liberation Times, DoD spokesperson, Susan Gough confirmed that Gaetz had been briefed and that the AARO had received a report from Eglin Air Force Base. The Liberation Times also noted that AARO will look to publish a public report on the incident, once it is cleared.

Gough commented to Liberation Times:

“Rep. Matt Gaetz received a classified briefing while visiting Eglin Air Force Base earlier this year, but we cannot comment on the content of that briefing.

“I can confirm that AARO is reviewing a report from Eglin AFB.  AARO has prioritized its analysis of that case and intends to publish the findings on its website once the information is cleared for public release. I have nothing further for you.”

FOIA reply (March, 2024)

In March of 2024, an FOIA reply to researcher Michael Dharamsey ( @aboss ) found more data around the case made famous by Congress in the 2023 UAP hearing. An illustration was presented of ‘UAP-1’ and a summary of the case details. A video was allegedly attached to this case, but this has not been greenlighted for release to the general public.

Analysis:

The case is hindered by a lack of transparency. The photos and alleged video have still not been released to the public, and the USAF made it extremely difficult to allow the Congressional representatives to access the relevant information. The time, exact location, pilots/WSOs and most importantly, the origin and final destination of these UAP are still unknown and possibly classified. The anomalous features of these UAP centre around their perceived ability to interfere with military grade sensory instruments – making radar malfunction, and the (un)aerodynamic shape of the UAP which may constitute positive-lift or anti gravity. Given that this case is missing significant information, it is difficult to draw any conclusions about origin, nature, or intent.

Conclusions:

1). Anti-gravity/positive lift might potentially be derived from the (un)aerodynamic shape, given more detailed information.

2). Sensory instrument manipulation might be attributed to the operational function or intention of the UAP.

More data is needed to draw a firm conclusion.

Working Hypothesis: Anomalous technology, foreign surveillance technology,
